1. Introduction
Combat has always been regarded as the mainstay rogue PVE talent tree and continues to remain a strong option in WotLK. I choose a Combat PVE build over one of the viable Mutilate builds, mainly due to the playstyle of Combat builds. I like the builds flexibility in having both multi-target dps potential through abilities like Killing Spree (KS), Blade Flurry (BF) and Fan of Knives (FoK) and also great single target dps.
2. The Spec

Glyphs: Eviscerate, Sinister Strike, Killing Spree
3. Gear
Mainhand a sword/axe, fist or mace weapon of generally slow speed.
Offhand a sword/axe, dagger or fist weapon of generally fast speed.
At high gear levels, ArPen usually takes over; until you get there, it can be almost anything. I've seen Agi, AP, Hit, and Haste all take the top position depending on the exact details of your gear setup - check a spreadsheet to find the answer that's right for you. But by late ICC gear levels, the rule of thumb seems to be enough Exp and Hit to fix any crit cap issues you may have and then stack ArPen. In some gear setups you might find it advantageous to use a haste gem or two.

4. Rotation
The rotation is pretty straight forward .
Priority:
* Start up Slice and Dice however you please, really.
* Use cooldowns whenever possible. Killing spree + blade flurry, blade flurry + adrenaline rush can be used.
*Adrenaline rush + killing spree is not recommended due to energy capping.
~Keep SnD up, no matter what the number of combo points are.
~5 point Eviscerate.
~ToTT when off cooldown.
As you can see there is no strict rotation Combat rogues follow and it does vary depending on your situation. Most important thing to note is to always keep your SnD up as this provides a significant boost to your dps. Vary the number of combo points you SnD depending on when it is about to fall off. Use your special abilities (KS, BF, AR) as often as possible and during the right situations. Eviscerate at 5 cps. Never use KS with AR. Use FoK when fighting more than two targets and lastly don’t forget to ToTT your tank whenever it is up or exchanging with your fellow Rogue.
5. Professions
The best Profession for all classes or role is always Jewelcrafting. The next best Profession is Leatherworking for the nice 130+ ap on the Bracers.
