About M-wow, Cata and Vent

Since I can't post in the news topic, I'll post here instead.

I never tried to get everyone that's playing here to switch over and play Cata full time.
I made that topic because every time I logged on Tragic-wow, 10 people whispered me asking me about the Cata server and everything. So instead of telling every single person the same thing all over again, I just decided it would be a better idea to make a topic for easy access to info that people are obviously interested in.

If you think that the fact I posted a topic about the Cata server is reason behind the low activity of the guild, then feel free to delete it.

IMO, the biggest reason behind the inactivity of the guild is Tragic-wow itself. I'm sure everyone knows the problems of the server right now and I don't need to re-type my own version of the general knowledge. Someone pointed out a couple of topics on Magic's forums that paint a clear picture of the situation. Furor left the server, no PvE guild is fully operational afaik (maybe Iron Maiden/Death Decay or whatever their name is now). As a player that has a lot of experience with many private servers dieing at the end of an expansion, I'd just like to point out that the end is near. Evo pointed out all the things that are contributing to the inactivity of the guild which brings me to another issue.

Vent has been inactive for at least 3 weeks now. No one logs on it and it's just a waste of money for Brant at this point. He was right when he was hesitant to increase it's capacity, but at least we used it for about 2-3 months which is more than what Brant predicted. Anyways, I'd just like to inform you that the Vent server is permanently going down in about 2 weeks from now. Brant decided to stop paying for it and he's right to do so.

About me and my inactivity: I've been busy with some RL issues in the past couple of weeks. I've barely had any time to logon Cata for the weekly scheduled raids with the guild. Since I didn't even have time for Cata, I don't see the reason for logging on M-wow. That being said, I'm comming up on some more free time starting next week, so I'll logon during peak times and maybe join a couple of raids with you guys (if there is anything actually going on).

And again, don't blame people for playing Cata. There's nothing happening on M-wow. People wanna keep playing and do fun stuff instead of afking in Ironforge waiting for something to happen. If you're so sceptical about Cata, then why don't you come and try it? If you don't like it, you can always log back on Tragic-wow and look at your 6.5k GS in Ironforge.

Anyways, I'm sure things will improve when summer comes closer as Evo pointed out. People will have a lot more free time and population will grow a little. I heard Ruby Sanctum might get released soon so there's a whole new loot table to increase your GS. I hope it's not as broken as many of the ICC bosses are, but at least people will have a reason to login/vote/donate.

I`ve been playing cata in WoWfreakz for 1 month and i gotta say that its a pretty good server.I`m playing on the Evolution realm becouse i live in Bulgaria wich is Romania`s neighbour so i am playing with 63 ms.There are not many bugs and there are 3 raids with 3-4 fully working bosses.If there is anyone playing on the Evolution server PM me my in-game name is the same as my profile name on Aftermath`s forum.

Srsly i went to play cata i did 2 instances till now No bugs no bull shit im enjoying it (Atleast i will have some free time for real life , not kill the boss every 4 hours)

I'm always up for any kind of voice chat. It beats the hell out of typing ingame. Problem is, even when we had a dedicated vent server created specifically for the guild, people still didn't use it. The only times they actually got on it was when officers forced them to get on vent while raiding. I don't know if people are too shy to talk, or just lazy retards that can't click 3-4 times, spend literally 1 minute of your time to DL and connect to vent. Screw it, whatever....

Most of the smart people would agree that doing something as a team is much more effective if you have everyone on voicechat calling out what needs to be done. On the other hand, Tragic-wow raids are so fucking easy it takes a bunch of mentally challenged people to screw things over.
Voicechat isn't only used when you're raiding.. it has many other uses, not to mention having a fun friendly conversation with people you play with ingame. We had a lot of good times on that vent, lots of jokes, drunk people leading raids, funny accents, PAKI PEOPLE, RUSSIANS... but it's all over now because none of the officers of this guild ever enforced it properly. Oh well, not much can be done about it now.

I'd say come on vent and say hi once in a while, but it seems that's no longer an option.

Works both ways, when most of the members do not have a mic/choose not to speak/cannot speak, then it just becomes 25 bodies on vent.

We can still get a channel on mwow vent.

Why bother. As I said, the vent server was there 24/7 and no one even logged on it. I figured a lot more people would feel free to get on vent no matter what they're doing as long as they're using their computer. Most of the time I was on vent, I wasn't even playing WoW. But I guess most of the people don't really want to socialize. They just want loot.

Even tho a lot of the officers tried to enforce the rule "get on vent while raiding" barely anyone ever talked. I don't understand how you can have a PC that costs at least 600$ and not own a 5$ headset.

if the guild some day gets to be active enough to do 25m raids every day, no one will ever bother using voicechat. People don't want to talk, and come up with some excuses that they "cant".

Maybe its because u muted most ppl for having background noise or techno music

There is gonna be some1 in guild, who could host ventrilo. Its easy to instal it + its for free.

That's very sad really... But no way to blame Brant for that decision, on the contrary he's prolly right to stop paying it for nothing and it was really cool to let us come on that vent. We (for my part at least) enjoyed a LOT of funny moments that will stay in memories for a long time. From technical strategies related to different PvE parts of the game to some general hysteria (after the Tribute Run to Immortality for example), passing by hilarious moments of intense feeding and failing on League of Legends...and to some serious discussions about real life in general (human beings, social relationships, politics, geography,cooking, foreign cultures and languages and so much more,...) or also about potential problems which can occur in the dailylife of everybody.
All sort of things have happened over there, even people giving advices about mice for around 1 hour (yeah mice, plural, nothing to do with mouse or joystick or gaming stuff, the people I'm thinking about will know what I'm referring to ) and a shitton of incredible things that I'm not able to mention in the totality.

To put it in a nutshell, people shared and learnt a lot of things over here and for that, thank you Brant and thank you Carpe Diem.

MWoW doesn't learn lol, they could release a perfectly scripted Ruby Sanctum, I don't think people would come back even then.

As I've stated before, I dont rly force people to come and play Cata with me. Honestly, I hope that most of the people from this guild don't. Everyone knows that people have been looking for something new to do. Random ideas about starting over on the horde side leveling new characters doing old content have come up, but honestly everyone kinda knew this was going to happen. I was just waiting for a good cata server to come up, and sharing that with the guild resulted in a lot of people playing there. You can't really blame anyone for being bored of M-wow.

If they release RS, I'm sure a lot of people will come back and do it a couple of times just to experience it. After 4-5 runs, I'm sure it will all be back to the old boring shit.
